The 600ATV Hardwall is a fully self-contained slide-on camper built for serious New Zealand adventure. Onboard you have a full kitchen setup with a Dometic 110L compressor fridge/freezer, 2-burner gas stove, sink with instant hot water, and an exterior shower. Sleep is taken care of with a cabover double bed and a dinette that converts to a second sleeping area. The enclosed toilet and shower cubicle means you are fully self-contained to NZS 5465 — no need to rely on campground facilities.
Our fleet runs two Ford Ranger configurations — both fully 4WD capable and both professionally upgraded and modified to tackle NZ.
The half cab flat deck seats 5 and comes with additional lockable aluminium storage boxes fitted alongside the camper on the deck. It’s a great all-rounder, though the rear seats are better suited to shorter legs or shorter journeys.
The double cab wellside also seats 5, with a more spacious rear cabin that makes longer drives between destinations significantly more comfortable for back seat passengers. Ideal for families or groups covering more ground.
Both variants are built Ford Tough with strong chassis, high ground clearance, and 4WD terrain modes. Our double cab model has advanced safety features come standard including adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.
Our double cab models are fitted with all the modern tech:

Yes. All linen, pillows, duvets, towels, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen utensils are included. Just bring your food and personal items.
It means the camper has its own fresh water, grey water, and waste systems onboard, along with a toilet and shower. This certification allows you to legally freedom camp at hundreds of sites across New Zealand that non-certified vehicles cannot access.
Yes, and this is one of the things that makes a Kohi Campers rental unique. Slide the camper off its jacks in under 10 minutes, leave it at your campsite, and drive the Ranger as a normal everyday vehicle. Head into town, tow a boat, explore a track, then come back to a fully set up camp waiting for you.
All rentals include AA 24/7 roadside assistance cover. You also have direct contact with David and James throughout your trip for anything the AA cannot handle.
Yes, insurance is included in all rentals. An excess applies in the event of a claim. Additional cover options are available — speak to us when booking for details.
As early as possible. Our fleet is small and books out quickly, particularly over summer and school holiday periods. We recommend securing your dates at least 8 to 12 weeks ahead for peak season travel.
Our campers are built for adventure, but insurance cover applies to legal sealed and unsealed public roads only. Driving off-road, on beaches, or on private tracks voids your insurance cover. For exploring remote areas, the 4WD Ford Ranger and certified GVM suspension upgrade handle unsealed public roads with ease — there is plenty of incredible New Zealand accessible without leaving legal roads.
