Bookings are made through our online availability checker on the Book Now page. Select your dates, choose your configuration, and follow the steps through our booking system. If you want to discuss your trip before committing, get in touch with us first.
As early as possible. Our fleet is limited and books out quickly, particularly over summer and school holiday periods and winter holidays. We recommend securing your dates at least 6 to 12 months ahead for peak season travel between December and April.

A non-refundable booking deposit of 10% of the total hire cost, or $1,000 (whichever is greater), is required to secure the booking.
The balance of your rental is billed to the card on file you made the deposit with, 1 week out from your trip.

We are unable to hold dates without a confirmed deposit payment. The fleet is high in demand so dates are only secured once your deposit is received.
Date changes are possible subject to availability. Contact us as early as possible if your plans change. Additional charges may apply if the new dates fall in a higher rate period.
More than 60 days before hire commencement: Deposit forfeited. 31–60 days before hire commencement: 25% of the total hire cost payable. 15–30 days before hire commencement: 50% of the total hire cost payable. 7–14 days before hire commencement: 75% of the total hire cost payable. 0–6 days before hire commencement, no-show, or early return: 100% of the total hire cost payable.
In the unlikely event we need to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, we will contact you as early as possible and provide a full refund of all payments made. We will do everything we can to find an alternative solution for your trip.
Extensions are possible subject to availability. Contact us as early as possible if you want to extend. Do not simply return the vehicle late without confirming an extension as late returns may incur additional charges.
Yes, but the person named as the primary driver must be present at pickup with their licence and will need to sign the rental agreement in person.
All rentals include a Ford Ranger 4WD. The Ranger model is subject to availability.
The Double Cab seats 5 people. The Half Cab seats 4 (2 adults and 2 children). All passengers must travel in the cab. It is illegal in New Zealand to travel inside the camper while the vehicle is moving.
No. A standard full New Zealand drivers licence is all you need. International licences are also accepted provided they are in English or accompanied by an official translation.

Yes, most of our fleet does. The Ford SYNC infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Ranger has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and comes fitted with adaptive cruise control, emergency autonomous braking, lane-keeping assist, reversing camera, and parking sensors as standard.
The camper sleeps up to 4 people — 2 adults in the cabover bed and 2 people in the dinette that converts to a second sleeping area.
The cabover bed is 1.42m x 1.85m. The dinette converts to a bed measuring 1.00m x 1.85m.
The interior height is 1.96m, allowing most adults to stand upright inside.
Yes. The 600ATV Hardwall is certified to NZS 5465. It has its own fresh water, grey water, and black water waste systems, plus a fully enclosed toilet and shower, allowing you to freedom camp at hundreds of sites across New Zealand.

Yes. All campers are fitted with two large 200W solar panels.
The camper has a house AGM battery, 240V power inlet and outlets, and a 12V charging station with multiple USB ports. It is designed for off-grid use without relying on powered campsites.
Self-containment means the camper has its own onboard fresh water, grey water, and black water waste systems, plus a toilet and shower. The 600ATV Hardwall is certified to NZS 5465, which is the official New Zealand self-containment standard.
You can freedom camp at hundreds of designated freedom camping sites across New Zealand that are accessible to self-contained vehicles only. Find sites using the CamperMate app or the Freedom Camping NZ website. Always check current site rules with the relevant local council as conditions change seasonally.
Download the CamperMate app before your trip. It maps freedom camping sites, dump stations, water refill points, and facilities across New Zealand. It works offline too which is essential in remote areas with limited mobile coverage.
Cassette toilet waste must be emptied at designated dump stations. CamperMate maps dump station locations across New Zealand. Do not empty the cassette in public toilets, on the ground, or in waterways.

Camping within national parks is generally restricted to designated DOC campsites. Freedom camping is typically permitted in the surrounding areas outside the park boundary in a self-contained vehicle. Always check the specific rules for the national park you are visiting on the DOC website before arriving.

Lost or damaged equipment will be charged at replacement cost. This includes Maxtrax recovery boards, kitchen equipment, linen, and any other included items.
Yes. Insurance cover is included as standard in every rental. An excess applies in the event of a claim unless you select the no risk option.
If no risk cover is selected when making your booking, the excess is zero. If no risk cover is not selected, the standard excess is $7,500 for drivers 26 and over, or $8,250 for drivers under 26.

Yes. We strongly recommend arranging comprehensive travel insurance for your trip, particularly for international visitors. This covers personal belongings, medical expenses, and trip cancellation that are not covered under the rental vehicle insurance.
Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are authorised to drive the vehicle. Additional drivers can be added to the agreement at pickup. Do not allow anyone not named on the agreement to drive under any circumstances as this voids your insurance cover.
We offer pickup in Auckland and Christchurch. The exact pickup address will be dependent on your booking location.
We will meet you at the pickup location and walk you through the vehicle and camper in detail. This covers how to operate the Ranger, how to slide the camper on and off, how to use all camper systems, and what to do in an emergency. Allow at least an hour for the pickup process.
No. The primary driver named on the rental agreement must be present at pickup to sign the agreement and receive the vehicle handover.
Drop off is in Auckland or Christchurch. The exact drop off address will be confirmed with you directly. If you are doing a one way rental ensure your drop off location has been confirmed with us before your trip.
Yes. We offer one way rentals between Auckland and Christchurch in both directions. This must be arranged and confirmed with us before booking.
Yes. A one way fee of $300 applies.
Yes. Ferry bookings between Wellington and Picton are your responsibility and are not included in the rental cost. Book with Interislander or Bluebridge as early as possible, particularly for summer travel.
Yes. The Ranger and camper combination is carried as a standard vehicle on both ferry operators. You are not permitted to access the vehicle on the car deck during the crossing.
Contact us as soon as possible if your sailing is affected. We will do everything we can to accommodate changes to your schedule caused by ferry delays or cancellations.

LPG gas bottles are available at most service stations and camping stores throughout New Zealand. Take the bottle with you to exchange or refill. The camper uses a standard 9kg LPG bottle.
Return the vehicle and camper in the same condition as received. The cassette toilet must be emptied, the kitchen cleaned, all equipment returned, and the fuel level must match pickup.
If applicable, your bond is refunded after the camper is returned and there are no issues.
Report any damage to us as soon as it occurs, even if it appears minor. Do not wait until return. Taking photos at the time is important for any subsequent claim.
